The Bisons and Lady Bisons took a break from conference play Monday night and beat the men’s and women’s teams from theUniversity of North Alabamaat the Rhodes Field House in Searcy, Ark.BisonsThe men beat UNA 84-76. The Bisons, who are tied with Christians Brothers for fourth place in theGulf South Conference West standings, competed against UNA in a non-conference game that took place before a crowd of 2,500.With 23 turnovers in the game, the Bisons held on to an 8-point lead as the clock closed in on the end of the game.Senior Trent Morganwas four for eight his in field-goal attempts, all of which were three-point shots. He sunk six of his seven free throws. Red-shirtfreshman Bradley Spencerwas three for four on his field-goal attempts, two of which were three-point shots. He was five for six on his free-throw attempts.Junior Stephen Blakewent four for nine in his field goal attempts, and he also completed 11 of 12 free-throw shots.”The need to transistion to defense from offense and rebounding is key in the second half,” saidhead coach Jeff Morgan. “This team can really score, and if we let them rebound and get the ball back it could result in them scoring on us a lot more.”Harding’s next home game will be against Delta State University on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rhodes Field House in Searcy, Ark.Lady BisonsThe Lady Bisons defeated UNA, 61-53. In front of a crowd of more than 1,000 fans, the women finished the night completing 16 of 48 field-goal attempts, five of which were three-point attempts. They also completed 24 of 36 free-throw attempts in the game.Senior Stacy Owenscompleted three of her 13 field-goal attempts and completed 10 of her 13 free-throw attempts.Junior Bailey St. Claircompleted three of her six field-goal attempts and 8 of her 12 free-throw attempts.The Lady Bisons will host Delta State University Thursday, Feb. 25, at 5:30 p.m. in the Rhodes Field House in Searcy, Ark.
