Several Harding students have taken their crafty hobbies to form a special interest craft group.
The group, called the Harding Knitting Group (and a little crocheting too), meets once a week to show off members’ projects, help refine each other’s techniques and simply have fun. Though still widely unknown, the group already has a few regulars.

Members range from those new to the craft to those who have been knitting or crocheting for years.
“I’ve been crocheting since I was 2. My mom taught me when I was young, and I’ve been doing it off and on ever since,” Jessica Roper, a 21-year-old English major said.
Members said they enjoy coming together and taking time to relax and knit and crochet with friends. The group started during the fall 2009 semester with only one or two members and has grown to five or six active members, with 12 in the Facebook group.
Members of the group represent a cross section of campus, including advertising, English and art majors.
The members all learned to knit and crochet in different ways. Some learned from their parents, some from friends, and others taught themselves, but everyone uses his or her unique talents to help the others fix problems and improve their skills.
