Pizza Hutannounced yesterday that they are planning to shut down the two local stores and replace them with a brand new store that is set to open next month.
“The main reason for the move is to keep up with our brand image.” Tim Jones, a local Pizza Hut manager said.
Even here in the small town of Searcy Pizza Hut looks to expand their profits by making the new store more up to date. After noticeable changes to the big cities stores, some Searcy residents thought nothing would change here.
“It will be nice not having to eat in such an older kinda run down building anymore.” Ryan Moore, a local Harding student said. “Now Searcy feels like its finally catching up with the world.”
One would think that with the current economic crisis going on spending money on a new store wouldn’t be a good idea, and that some might lose there jobs because of it. It is quite opposite with Pizza Hut here. “We are planning on more then doubling our work force.” Jones said.
One of the new and exciting things that will come along with the new store is they will be expanding on their current menu items. Jones said he can’t say any specific items, but that he promises it will be a welcomed change to the menu.
As exciting of a move this is, no big change like this can go perfectly according to plan. With all the recent rain, it has put a damper on the construction. All though looking at it one would think it is pretty much done. But Jones said if it keeps raining like it has then the move might keep get pushing back.
As for the location Pizza Hut has picked for their new store any Harding student would think it is a welcomed change having a new restaurant a whole lot closer to campus then the two current stores locations. Not even a minute’s walk off campus this is a perfectly placed marketing strategy on the part of Pizza Hut, hoping the move will bring in plenty of new Harding customers.
