The Petit Jean Yearbook has a staff of 19 people that work throughout the year to ensure that the book gets published. Without these incredible 19 people, there simply wouldn’t be a yearbook. There’s no way one person could do this on their own, and the PJ staff works tirelessly as a team.
One group of people crucial to the creation of the Petit Jean is the section editors. The section editors are each responsible for a section of the book like Academics, Athletics or Social Clubs. Throughout the year, these section editors create story ideas, make photo assignments and put the information all together on a page that you’ll eventually see in the book.
Let’s meet them!
Jonna Hopper, Student Life and International
If Jonna was stranded on a dessert island and could only bring three items, it would be a beach chair, umbrella and sunscreen. Also, special request from Jonna…please wait a few weeks before sending help.
Megan Ledbetter, People
Megan is an overly organized and overthink-everything kind-of-girl from Conway, AR who just wants to write and take pictures. Megan figured double majoring in Journalism and Marketing could secure her a future in the world’s editorial writing and photography, so that’s what she finds herself studying when she’s not working on the yearbook. Megan is obsessed with antique cameras, books (the kind with real pages) and pandas.
Jacob McAlister, Leadership
Lover of adventures & cheese dip, Jacob McAlister would be given the title “class favorite.” Jacob moved to big-city Searcy, AR from small-town Nashville, TN, last year to study Cognitive Neuroscience, Pre-Pharmacy. He is a TNT boy and Zeta Rho Beau.
Jacob eats cheese dip and drinks Coca-Cola as if it were his job. He’s very particular about his Coca-Cola, however. It MUST be from a soda fountain — none of that bottled mess. Somehow Jacob has survived over a year at Harding University without ever going to Heber Springs, Pinnacle or Sugarloaf… We’ll work on that.
Hannah Foust, Academics
Florence, Alabama native Hannah Foust is a sophomore public relations major that has quite the sweet tooth for Starbursts and skillet cookies but has never had a cavity! She loves Zeta Rho, Disney World, and the oxford comma and is looking forward to spending a semester in Greece this spring.
Z’Ann Hardin, Athletics
Z’Ann is from Amarillo, Texas, and recently got engaged! Congrats, Z’Ann! Z’Ann’s life involves “way too much food,” and one time she met a Pussycat Doll at a party at her uncle’s house.
Lauren Hargett, Social Clubs
Being from Huntsville, AL, “Roll Tide” is a proper greeting for Lauren. She went to her first Alabama football game at six weeks old. A very common vacation for Lauren and her family, who are all over the age of 21, is to Walt Disney World! In addition to the yearbook staff, Lauren is also an intern for the Office of Communications and Marketing, as well as the Public Relations Organization president.
Kendra Stevenson, Organizations
Kendra discovered some of her greatest talents and abilities because she came to Harding and met some of the greatest people. She is very passionate about the things she cares about and believes in. Kendra wants to share those things and beliefs with others!
Cole Custer, Assistant Organizations
Cole is the lone freshman on the Petit Jean staff, but he hopes it isn’t too obvious. (Don’t worry, Cole, we love freshmen.) Cole loves camping and photography.
