Taco Bell will add breakfast to the menu starting March 27. According to Taco Bell, this breakfast launch is the brand’s largest and most extensive menu change since Taco Bell first opened 50 years ago.
Taco Bell President Brian Niccol said the introduction of a breakfast menu started after customers showed interest.
“Fans already like to come to Taco Bell for lunch and dinner, and they share with us their love of late night.” Niccol said. “Now they’re not just asking, but telling us they want Taco Bell breakfast.”
The breakfast items will include the “Waffle Taco,” a waffle wrapped around either a sausage patty or bacon, with scrambled eggs, cheese and a side of syrup, the “A.M. Crunchwrap,” filled with scrambled eggs, a hash brown, cheese, bacon, sausage or steak wrapped in a flour tortilla, and the “A.M. Grilled Taco,” a grilled taco filled with scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese.
Other breakfast items include a breakfast burrito and the “Cinnabon Delights,” which have been featured in the dessert menu for Taco Bell.
According to NY Daily, Taco Bell is also bringing in new equipment to start serving drip coffee for the first time at the 5,500 participating restaurants nationwide.
Junior Tanner Sharp has heard the rumors about a breakfast menu coming to Taco Bell, but is skeptical of certain breakfast items.
“I have to admit the Waffle Taco sounds pretty terrible,” Sharp said. “I have low expectations, but I will try anything three times.”
For junior Allie Marlin, eating breakfast usually doesn’t happen, but she said she is curious to try Taco Bell’s breakfast when it is released.
“I am excited to try the Cinnabon Delights,” Marlin said. “And their breakfast burritos sound great.”
According to Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt, breakfast is the fastest growing part of the day for quick service restaurants.
“After years of the same old thing, we are confident our breakfast will wake up customers’ morning routine,” Brandt said.
