Classification:5th Year SeniorHometown:Colorado Springs, Colo.Bio:I started playing saxophone when I was in fourth grade. I started listening to John Coltrane soon after. My father would listen to Earth Wind and Fire, so I was soon interested in funk and soul music. After experiencing Jack Johnson, I started writing songs in high school; they were no good. After the transition from the Hip-Hop duo Kodak and D’Lee, I started seriously writing songs. Last year I played guitar with the group Midnight Trio (Travis Kaye, Michael Wright and Cullen Dehart) in which we played a number of songs I had written. Two years before that, I played tenor sax with The Greg Stephens Orchestra, a jazz combo that played weekly at The Underground.I have been in Harding’s Jazz band for five years and still love every rehearsal. When I’m not working with various groups, I often record solo work and have an electronic project called Co-Audio. This year I’m playing with a group called The Knives (Travis Kaye, Cullen Dehart). We are more blues/rock than any group I’ve played with.We will start playing shows around Searcy sometime this March. I am also considering to play a concert at Midnight Oil in which I share some of the songs I have written the past five years and the stories that they came from. I have recently started writing songs with my fiancee and hope to someday record a full album of our songs.Favorite Music:Phoenix, Weezer, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Tribe Called Quest, Death Cab for Cutie, Dntel, Postal Service, Amos Lee, Earth Wind and Fire, Buddy Rich and more.Audio:
