For Trey Morgan, Harding Lectureship is about connecting with friends and meeting new people in addition to the lectures. This year, he will add a presentation to that list.
“I’m so excited about being a part of Harding’s lectureship this year,” Morgan said. “I will be speaking to the Harding students this year about Godly relationships, and how to build a godly marriage even before you’re married.”
Morgan is the senior minister for the church of Christ in Childress, Texas. He and his wife conduct Stronger Marriage Workshops across the U.S., where they meet with thousands of couples about building stronger marriages.
“Only second to having a relationship with God, is the subject of healthy relationships and healthy marriages are essential,” Morgan said. “In today’s society when there are so many myths about sex, marriage and relationships, it’s essential we see what God’s plan is for those things.
Morgan attended Lectureship in 2015 and said he was honored to be part of this year’s program.
“I love speaking about Godly relationships — it is one of my passions,” Morgan said. “God has so much to say in his Bible about healthy relationships and marriage. Having the opportunity to talk about those things is something I’m very passionate about.”
Morgan has hosted dozens of marriage workshops, usually scheduling around 15 per year. He said since he and his wife have become more serious about the workshops, they have had hundreds of attendees at the events.
“Having the opportunity to speak to thousands of couples about building Godly marriage is a wonderful opportunity,” Morgan said. “I have been with the Childress church of Christ as their senior minister for the past 15 years. Most of our workshops take place on Fridays and Saturdays, so I can fly back in in time to preach on Sunday morning.”
Morgan will present lectures on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
