With the temperature finally dropping, it’s time to break out the fall candles, grab some pumpkins for a centerpiece and hang artificial fall leaves all over the dorms to make the place feel a little more like home.
Junior Dana Gist said she looks forward to fall every year because of the warm and calming atmosphere.
“There is something about having pumpkins and cinnamon candles all around you that makes everyone feel a little more relaxed,” Gist said.
Harding students come from all over, and packing up the fall decorations when moving in August isn’t normally the first thing on a freshman’s radar. Luckily, upperclassmen and local Searcy shops are here to help.
Senior Claire Fergeson said fall is her favorite time of the year, and on Oct. 1, decorating her Legacy apartment was the first thing on her agenda.
“I decorate for fall every year,” Fergeson said. “It puts me in a good mood, and after a stressful day, coming home to a decorated room or a decorated apartment is one of the best feelings ever.”
Instead of lugging decorations from home, Fergeson said Harding students should take advantage of the sale currently going on at Dirt Cheap, just five minutes down Race Street from campus.
