Burrito Day Café in downtown is expanding to add an outdoor patio and bar area. Owners Brandon and Kari Fox started the restaurant in the summer of 2015 hoping to serve the community by providing fast, healthy meals in a casual, refreshing environment.
According to Kari Fox, Brandon Fox has wanted to open a burrito restaurant in Searcy since 2006. Brandon Fox is from Nashville, Tennessee and has always enjoyed a fast, casual burrito restaurant. After the couple got married in 2012, they made his dream a reality.
“God has provided every single step of the way, and our community surrounded us and helped us get the doors open.” Kari said.
“This expansion will give us more seating and a little bar area that will over look the street.” Brandon Fox said. “People like to sit outside, so when the weather is nice they will be able to sit out there. We will also have ceiling fans and a couple heaters in the winter, so people can sit out on the patio area year round.”
Armstrong Hall’s dorm dad, Joey Myers, owner of Woodlife, Inc., is in charge of this expansion project. According to Myers, Burrito Day needs more seating. Myers said his plans are to take out the existing living space to make a customer-friendly, outdoor patio eating area.
“We are putting this building back to the way it was in the beginning.” Myers said.
Kari Fox said she has always loved the thought of living where she worked and when the found this building in 2013 it was exactly what they were looking for. According to the Foxes, though they started small, expansion was always a goal.
“We had no idea we would be needing to expand this soon,” Kari Fox said. “We want people to have more places to sit and enjoy each other and a good meal. We also love being outside and are trying to provide outdoor seating that is also comfortable year-round.”
