There are moments in our lives that stand out and refuse to be forgotten. There are times in our existence when we have stood up for something more than ourselves. There are days that have come to pass in our history that have shaken us down to our very soul. Today I would like to talk about one such moment, one such time, and one such day that set its self in the timeline of history.
On June 6th, 1944 Allied forces from Great Britain, Canada, and The United States executed the most complex amphibious assault of all time. The victories on that day and the many days after it would inevitably lead to the defeat of Nazi Germany and its allies. Today is the 67thAnniversary of the D-Day invasion, and as we take time to remember those fallen in combat and in the defense of our country and the freedom it stands for, I hope that we would also take time to remember another day.
I don’t know the date, but I do know the outcome: Unconditional, Irrevocable, and Undeniable Victory. When Christ died on the cross for us we won a victory unlike any that has or ever will be won in this mortal or celestial realm. Alone no nation could have defeated The Axis’s of Evil, but when many nations allied together to stand against a common enemy, that enemy trembled with fear, and with the unmistakable footsteps of defeat marching down upon them, they fled.
It is the same in our spiritual lives. Alone we cannot stand against the terrible evil of Satan and his followers, but unfortunately for him we stand alongside and Ally so Great, and so Powerful that those who would call themselves our enemies would, in doing so, name themselves fools. For none can stand against the will of God, and if we stand alongside Him, and His will, then who can stand against us.
