The Harding campus community this morning was saddened to learn of the death of one of our students, Courtney Book.
Courtney, age 24, died early this morning (Friday) at UAMS in Little Rock from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle on Booth Road in Searcy. The accident occurredThursdayevening and administrators were notified by the Searcy Police Department at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Courtney was a graduate student in the College of Education, studying in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program. She entered Harding in August 2008, majoring in history with a minor in ancient languages. Courtney received her B.A. in May 2012.
She was a member of Regina social club, and for the past three years worked as a student assistant in Harding’s annual Lectureship.
Members of Courtney’s family are traveling to Searcy today from Maine. Please continue to remember the family in your prayers.
