Texas Roadhouse, located on 1555 Janet St., is set to open Dec. 11. This is another deal that was made through Dalrymple Real Estate, the agency responsible for the development of the Searcy City Center. Principal broker and director of real estate Jose Colunga said he is excited about what the addition of Texas Roadhouse means for the community.
“Nearly 18 months in the making, we were finally able to announce Texas Roadhouse,” Colunga said. “We started negotiations with their corporate office in 2022. It was crucial for the development of the Searcy City Center to have a place to eat.”
Vice president of the Chamber of Commerce Tara Cathey has similar excitement about the new developments in the Searcy City Center area. Cathay said Texas Roadhouse will add “a huge quality of life” to the area.
“Our local people have big names right here in our community,” Cathay said. “This is an amazing economical plus for Searcy.”
The Searcy City Center has been acquiring the business of big names throughout its construction. The opening of Texas Roadhouse will make it the first dining location in the area.
This service helps both shoppers and residents of Searcy alike. Becky McCown, Harding School of Theology transition team assistant, is a Searcy local who said she has experienced the benefits of these additions.
“I know that it can negatively affect small, locally owned businesses, but I feel it’s good for Searcy because it attracts more people and gives those of us who live here year-round more options to stay in town,” McCown said.
The additions of big names will continue, according to Colunga. These additions aim to help increase local revenue as well as bring more jobs to the area.
