Searcy has had some new changes recently with local businesses and a lot of new things to be excited for in the coming weeks.
Burrito Day has recently announced they will begin serving during evening hours. Owner Kari Fox and her husband said they are thrilled to be adding new hours.
“We’ve always had the plan to open at night when the time was right,” Fox said. “We wanted to feel grounded enough as a business to be able to handle more hours. We get told fairly often by customers that they would be able to come eat a lot more if we were open at night, and so we definitely expect to have even more business when we transition.”
Fox said they want to help promote night life in the downtown area. They plan to begin with opening on weekend nights. The date and hours are still undecided for when they make this transition.
The Healthy Hub, a fitness juice bar, celebrated its grand opening on February 3. Owner James Nemes said he has great hopes for the new business. The Healthy Hub is a new chain, and they are selling products that include Herbalife ingredients such as meal replacement shakes and energy drinks.
“We knew the town could definitely be using what we had to offer,” Nemes said. “We are a great healthy option, which I feel like isn’t really that available in Searcy right now. We also have a very positive environment, (and we) want to build relationships with people within the community and we want to give back.”
The Natural Food store has been in Searcy for 15 years, but recently moved to 500 South Main St. The store has a new look to match its new location.
“This place just feels and looks more like what we had in mind,” Owner Eric McMullen said. “We have extra room in this store, so we are able to add more health goods, products and services. It’s too early to tell if sales will be better, but we like this location better so far.”
All owners have said they are very excited for these changes/additions and are in hopes that this will greatly increase their business.
