1. When did you begin playing basketball?
K: I honestly don’t remember not playing basketball. I’ve played since I was really little because my brother and sister played.
H: I’ve played since I was four. I’ve played since it could be competitive.
2. What led you to play basketball at Harding?
K: This is my hometown. My whole family has come through Harding. They were really the only school that recruited me, but it was also the only school I ever really considered.
H: I got recruited out of high school, through AAU stuff. I came out and met the guys on the team and then made my decision.
3. How did you meet? Did you realize when you met that you would eventually be spending the rest of your lives together?
H: Well, there’s a little controversy with that. I said we met at the caf.
K: And I said we met at a football game.
H: I knew Lauren (Harrison), and she introduced us in the caf. We started to get to know each other at the football game.
K: I was very open. I was weird as a freshman. I was like, ‘I’m going to get to know you’. I had heard he was shy so I was like, ‘challenge accepted’.
H: I don’t think either of us knew we were going to get married. People gave us a hard time freshman year because we didn’t start dating until sophomore year.
K: Our whole freshman year we hung out a lot. We didn’t put a label on it, so people gave us a hard time.
H: We had a nickname, people called us Krayden.
4. How would you describe your respective playing styles?
H: Kristen is very athletic. She can play any position they put her at. She’s a great player. She can do a little bit of everything.
K: He gets beat up more than anyone I know. He’s one of the toughest players I’ve ever watched play. He’ll come off with a bloody face, and say ‘stitch me up and put me back in’. He finishes really well around the basket, and he can also shoot the three’s.
5. What’s something that he/she does on the court that you wish you could do?
H: I wish I could jump like her.
K: And I wish I could dunk like you.
6. How did you propose?
H: My birthday was coming up, and I told my friend to tell us to go to The Old Mill for my birthday. Her sister and I had scoped it out beforehand and decided it would be a great place. I had a book made for her to flip through and had a log carved out with “Will you marry me?.” I had her sister put the log down by the water at The Old Mill. I didn’t have anywhere to put the book so I kept it in the back of my pants the whole day. In the book, I had put pictures of where we first met; I said the caf, she said the football game, and then I ended the book with a picture of The Old Mill, and the log that said “Will you marry me?”, and I turned the log around, and asked her.
7. What characteristics do you admire in one another?
K: Kids are just drawn to him. It amazes me, all the little boys that come up to him at games, that look up to him. He’s such a great role model for them. He has such a gentle heart for such a tough person. It’s cool to see such a gentle person be so tough on the court.
H: Her attitude through anything. She can be having a terrible time, and she’ll still have a great attitude. She’ll still be encouraging others. I’d definitely have to say her attitude is my favorite because it’s great through good times or bad.
8. What characteristics do you not admire in one another?
K: He bites his nails all the time.
H: I’m having a hard time. I can’t really think of anything.

H: I’ve really enjoyed our trips together, to her track meets, to nationals last year.
K: We basically do double dates with my parents every weekend. I love long car rides. It’s when we get really honest and goofy with each other. I love it.
10. What are your two most favorite things about him/her?
K: I love that he’s really weird, because I’m really weird.
H: I love that she’s constantly happy about everything.
