Funeral services were held Friday for a Harding University physical resources employee who died Wednesday after falling from the rooftop of the Mabee business building Tuesday morning.
Teddy Joe Pike, 61,was installing heating and air equipment on an addition to the building when he fell and landed on the second story’s concrete floor.
Pike, an organ donor, was kept on life support at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock to maintain his organs for transplantation, according to Liz Howell, assistant to the president for alumni and parent relations.
Pike, of Quitman, Ark., was a carpenter and welder at Harding for 21 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Pike; his son, Eli Pike; two daughters, Dena Barger and husband, Roger, and Mandy Farris and husband, Keith; his mother, Rena Verl Pike; two sisters, Alice Johnson and Patricia Treat and husband, Bill; and four grandchildren: Jonathon Pike, Madison Pike, Rachel Barger and Kelsey Farris.
A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at the Howard General Baptist Church. Memorials can be made to the Howard General Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 4900 Heber Springs Road W., Quitman, Ark., 72131.
