UPDATE: The puppy has been found and returned to Patti’s Puppies. It has been given medicine and is “expected tobe just fine,” the owner said.Harding’s annual stress reduction fair took a stress-inducing turn Tuesday afternoon when it was discovered that a 7-week-old teacup yorkie was missing from the front lawn.The owner of Patti’s Puppies, located on Race Street, brought the puppy and several others to Harding’s stress relief fair, with the purpose of allowing students to play and interact with students.Around 2 p.m., the owner noticed the puppy missing. The owner and animal control said they believe the puppy has been stolen.
The owner said she is concerned for the puppy, adding that it is on a special diet and medication for stress.She said the puppy will die within two or three days without its medication. If the puppy is returned within 24 hours, she said she will not press the appropriate felony charges for stealing the puppy, whose selling price is up to $600.Students are asked to contact Patti at 501-278-7665 or Public Safety with any information.
