Eating the same foods every day, without a variety of different foods can leave students complaining about the food that the school provides.
Harding University and Aramark Food Services found a solution to this, in order to give the students more variety in the cafe.
On April 15ththe cafe hosted a tasting of new foods during lunch to get the opinions of students of what they would like to see brought into the cafe in the next year. Among the foods that vendors brought in were Philly Cheese steaks, Buffalo Chicken poppers, and Frozen Cappuccinos which the students were given to sample to decide what they would like to see Aramark bring in.
“The vendors have come from Sysco, who supplies our food,” said Aramark cafeteria manager George Strachan. “We are looking to add new items to our menu, and also some new shops to the student center.”
Student reactions about the food tasting were high, as most we’re ready for a change in the food served.
“It’s a good change of options,” freshman Weston Jameson said. “It’s refreshing to have new options and give our opinions about what we want to have in the cafe more often.”
