The Harding University men’s basketball team defeated Southern Arkansas University 67 to 60Monday night at the Rhodes Field House in Searcy, Ark.Senior Kevin Brown completed five of seven field-goal attempts, and six of 11 free throws. He had seven rebounds in the game. Senior Trent Morgan also performed well, completing five of 13 field-goal attempts and six of seven free throws.Overall, the team completed 18 of 45 field-goal attempts, 34 of 53 free throws, and gained 30 rebounds in the game.The Bisons had a rough first half, giving up 12 turnovers and trailing 30-22 at the half.”It’s hard to win games when you turnover the ball 12 times,” said coach Jeff Morgan at halftime. “We need to get better ball control, and play harder in the second half.”However, the team returned in the second half ready to recover from the errors it made in the first half.”We defended and rebounded better and got good possesions on the offensive end,” Morgan said. “We moved the ball well and got some good buckets with the help of our defense.”The next home game for the Bisons is Saturday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rhodes Field House against University of Arkansas-Monticello.
