The Harding University athletics department will participate in several activities during the third week of October to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
2009 Play For The Cure Shirt
This is the second year for Harding to participate in play for the cure. All the money raised will go to Lori Newby, wife of Harding Academy coach Jon Newby, who is currently battling breast cancer. The money will help with all types of cost, which includes travel cost to Texas where she goes for treatment.
The Susan G.Komen Foundationfor Breast Cancer Awareness is sponsoring Play for the Cure on college campuses across the country during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
T-shirts, bracelets, mints and stickers will be available and donations taken all this week and during the events. One Hundred percent of the proceeds go to local families that are struggling with Breast Cancer. Look for the Play 4 the Cure table at each event below to buy your merchandise and make donations.
