If you decide to celebrate and want to sleep somewhere other than in your classrooms, here is a list of the best places on campus to catch some z’s.

1. Starbucks You know them and you love them: the Starbucks multipurpose community room couches. I’ve accidentally fallen asleep on one of them at least twice, so these would be a great place to intentionally snooze. The green one facing the side TV is my personal favorite. Curl up with a good book and something decaffeinated. You are trying to get some shut–eye here.

2. The Pit At the back of the ramp into the pit, adjacent to the fireplaces in the Stu, is a small alcove, which I am calling the pit of the pit. I wouldn’t go here right after chapel, but there is literally no one anywhere near the pit mid-afternoon. I think this would be a great place to build a fort, so lots of pillows and blankets are recommended.

3. The Heritage Go lie down on the black stone ledge surrounding the wall-terfalls for a chilled surface and relaxing water sounds. There’s two of them, so take a friend. While trying out this spot I figured out that the plants there are in fact real, so be careful not to lie directly on top of those if you choose to recline there.

4. The Front Lawn Of course you could hammock, but why would you do that when you could lie prostrate directly in the center of the quad? You don’t even need a pillow and a blanket, the ground is pretty comfortable. If it’s muddy, I would recommend trying out a classic Harding swing. You don’t need a significant other and a ring; you just need yourself and a dream.

5. The Student Center Elevator “Student Center elevator? Where is that?” This is an actual question our features editor, Savanna, asked me while I was writing this article. This elevator is rarely used, so while it is technically public, it’s very secluded.

If you participate in National Public Sleeping Day, mention @hustudentpubs in a Twitter picture using the hashtag, #husleeps, to share your siesta.

A few weeks ago, I scrolled down a list of obscure holidays in the month of February and found out that National Public Sleeping Day is celebrated on the 28th.…

[136

post-8262","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-lifestyle
["GET
