As inferred from the name, this burger includes bacon and a fried egg, but also pesto sauce.

JP: I hesitate to call the Bacon and Egg Burger a new burger at all. Mostly, it is the same burger we reviewed last time, just with added condiments. Yet this burger deserves your attention, if only because it has a unique condiment that we have yet to find anywhere else in Searcy: pesto sauce. For me, the pesto sauce combined with the bacon and egg additions recreated the burger entirely, giving a fresh context to a burger already at the top of my list. I won’t rate it any higher — leaving this burger at an 8/10 — but I will recommend it as a possibly tastier option for those of you with a preference for bacon, egg, and pesto.

Hunter: Perhaps the best best news regarding the Bacon & Egg Burger is that the consistent components offered a consistent experience. The bun was subtly but effectively flavorful, and the beef was tender, juicy and well-seasoned. That to say, Greek House knows how to make a burger. As for the bacon and egg,, the namesake ingredients compliment the burger well. The bacon is well cooked, and while I don’t typically go for an egg on my burger, they do it right; in a town lacking of restaurants that offer that, this is a good option (though perhaps not the best at $9.29). What makes this burger interesting, however, is the pesto sauce – a rare find for a Searcy burger. However, whether too much was added or pesto is just potent, the sauce was overpowering, and once I got to the heart of the burger, the sauce was all I tasted. The pesto did not compliment the burger, but detracted from it. Still, it is fundamentally a solid burger thanks to the kitchen staff at Greek House, and a unique experience for Searcy. I give the Bacon and Egg burger a 6/10.

Bottom Line: The Bacon & Egg Burger adds two well-prepared, complimentary toppings to the flavorful Greek House burger. It is more than enough to satisfy those looking to add a fried egg to their burger. The real attraction, though is the pesto sauce. If you’re a big fan of pesto sauce, you are likely to enjoy the Bacon & Egg Burger, though you may find better alternatives if you simply desire a new condiment. Averaging our score, the Bacon and Egg Burger scores a 7/10.

We revisited Greek House to try a third burger on their menu: the bacon and egg burger.
