1. Can you tell me one of your most unique practices during Spring Sing this year?<\/p>\n
“Probably the first time we started working on choreography because we help make it up so the first time we tried to do it we were very timid. It’s much better now. The first time was very, very awkward.”<\/p>\n
2. What of your childhood led to performing?<\/p>\n
“I grew up watching the Sound of Music, which was my favorite movie. When I saw the high school do it on stage, I knew I wanted to get into performing live.”<\/p>\n
3. Why did you try out for Spring Sing hostess?<\/p>\n
“When I first saw Spring Sing in high school I remember Tori Wisely singing a solo from Tangled. I knew I could do that so I said \u2018I’m going to do that when I come to Harding.'”<\/p>\n
4. How do you feel when you perform on stage?<\/p>\n
“I don’t really feel like myself. It is one place I don’t have to worry about what other people think of me because I’m just having fun.”<\/p>\n
5. How do you prepare for a show?<\/p>\n
“It’s weird I don’t really get nervous beforehand until five minutes before I go on stage. I won’t be nervous all of tech week until right before we go onstage. It depends on the kind of show. I need to warm up vocally for harder vocal shows. The biggest thing is vocally and stretching.<\/p>\n
6. What is the group dynamic of all of the Spring Sing hosts and hostesses?<\/p>\n
“It’s really fun. It was weird coming in being the youngest. They all knew each other. We mesh more now.”<\/p>\n
7. What have you learned from this experience?<\/p>\n
“I definitely have learned how to be more confident on stage. It’s different from other shows because we’re not playing a character. The hardest part is making sure we’re being genuine when saying all our lines.”<\/p>\n
8. What motivates you to perform or keeps you going?<\/p>\n
“The biggest thing is that performing and practicing is an escape from other responsibilities. It keeps me sane from getting too stressed out about other stuff.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
