Spring Sing host James Morgan answers questions about his experience.<\/p>\n
1.What was one of your most unique Spring Sing practices?<\/p>\n
“I did not know I was going to be asked for ideas for choreography. Granted most of my ideas were pretty terrible, but it was something I’ve never experienced to have my ideas for something I’m not very good at be appreciated and incorporated.”<\/p>\n
2.What of your childhood let to performing?<\/p>\n
“I did some theater in junior high and two shows my senior year of high school, but honestly I count Pirates as my first real production. It was a much grander scale than what I had ever done, and with a lot more talented people. My background is really just playing pretend.”<\/p>\n
3.Why did you try out for Spring Sing host\/hostess?<\/p>\n
“I just really wanted to get up and sing on that stage, even if it was just for the audition. Being a Spring Sing host is a huge honor.”<\/p>\n
4.How do you feel when you perform on stage?<\/p>\n
“I feel at home. I feel so happy, and that’s probably where I feel most comfortable.”<\/p>\n
5. How do you prepare for a show?<\/p>\n
“If I have time I take a nap. That’s pretty much it.”<\/p>\n
6. What is the group dynamic of all the hosts and hostesses?<\/p>\n
“Kelsey and Renee are the parents, and Jesse is the center of attention. He’s kind of like the ring leader of it all, he’s the funny guy. I just kind of sit back and watch and complain.”<\/p>\n
7. What have you learned from this experience?<\/p>\n
“I learned that the key to any performance, particularly the ones where you’re out of your element, is confidence. I am a horrible dancer, but if I go out there and am confident, it doesn’t look it bad \u2013 fake it \u2018til you make it.”<\/p>\n
8. What motivates you to perform?<\/p>\n
“Shows like this have a huge effect on people. It gives people an opportunity to forget about things, and it is a reminder that there are more important things. I really believe in the message of this show, and I think it’s something that is important for our culture to hear. I think of the incredible opportunity I have to bring such a great message to somebody, and to give somebody the opportunity to be relieved for a while.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
