However, lately I have discovered the value of intangible objects in the healing process.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The things that cause us pain, just as the things that can heal us, are not always seen. In the same way, the lyrics of a song can bring more comfort than pharmaceuticals \u2014 or, in my case, ice cream.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Songs of Love Foundation inspired these thoughts as I explored the organization&#8217;s efforts to share music with ill children across the country. Depending solely on charitable donations, the organization produces original songs tailored to fit the personality of each child.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>More than 20,000 songs have been produced to date, meaning there are nearly 20,000 children who have received the gift of music in their time of struggle.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>I think that this is a lesson for all of us, proving that the simplicity of a song can bring more joy than the latest action figure or Barbie.
