{"id":3533,"date":"2009-11-11T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-02-22T15:21:55","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T06:00:00","slug":"former-mci-vice-president-to-speak-at-harding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelink.harding.edu\/the-bison\/2009\/11\/11\/former-mci-vice-president-to-speak-at-harding\/","title":{"rendered":"Former MCI vice president to speak at Harding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Written by Kimberley M Kokernot<\/p>\n<p>Former MCI vice president and chief audit executive<a href=\"http:\/\/cynthiacooper.com\/\">Cynthia Cooper<\/a>will speak in the Benson Auditorium Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m as part of the American Studies Institute Distinguished Lecture Series.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2002, Cooper was one of Time Magazine&#8217;s Persons of the Year in honor of her work in helping to expose the $3.8 billion WorldCom fraud, the largest incident of accounting fraud in U.S. history at the time.<\/li>\n<li>Her book, &#8220;Extraordinary Circumstances,&#8221; was published in 2008.
