This weekend in Searcy was filled with music.<\/p>\n

Searcy held a festival for its citizens called “Get Down Downtown” in the court square, which featured musicians, artists and vendors from nearby.<\/p>\n

The Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted the festival, which began at 6 p.m. on Friday and ended late Saturday when the music stopped.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The citizens of Searcy showed up in force to the downtown square to participate in the festivities, which according to many, was well worth the drive.<\/p>\n

Pikes Social Club, not to be out-done, held a concert of its own featuring Steel Barrel at industrial park at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Admission was $5 but well worth the money according to many in attendance.<\/p>\n

The Pike concert lasted about an hour-and-a-half and was enjoyed by a much younger crowd.<\/p>\n

“I thought we had a great turn-out\u2026 Seemed like everyone had a good time and we just enjoy rockin’ out and having fun,” Clay Evans, a student at Harding University and the lead singer\/guitarist for Steel Barrel, said after the show.<\/p>\n
