The Harding campus community this morning was saddened to learn of the death of one of our students, Courtney Book.<\/p>\n
Courtney, age 24, died early this morning (Friday) at UAMS in Little Rock from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle on Booth Road in Searcy. The accident occurredThursdayevening and administrators were notified by the Searcy Police Department at approximately 10:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Courtney was a graduate student in the College of Education, studying in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program. She entered Harding in August 2008, majoring in history with a minor in ancient languages. Courtney received her B.A. in May 2012.<\/p>\n
She was a member of Regina social club, and for the past three years worked as a student assistant in Harding’s annual Lectureship.<\/p>\n
Members of Courtney’s family are traveling to Searcy today from Maine. Please continue to remember the family in your prayers.<\/p>\n
