Junior Jackson Pschierer came up with the idea to host Harding\u2019s version of the television show \u201cSurvivor\u201d \u2014including students as the cast with a $100 prize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pschierer grew up watching \u201cSurvivor\u201d and was fascinated by all the challenges the cast would compete in. He also went to an event in Nashville, Tennessee this past semester to meet some of the show\u2019s past cast members and talk to other fans. Pschierer was inspired to do his version of Survivor at Harding. He had seen videos of other colleges doing something similar to his idea, so he asked if any of his friends would be interested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI’ve spoken to all the people that have applied,\u201d Pschierer said. \u201cThey\u2019ve all agreed to a $10 buy-in and the winner will get $100 of that pot, and the other two finalists will get their money back so they have something to play for besides bragging rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pschierer already has his cast solidified, and now is awaiting the right time to host the show, preferably on a weekend. He plans to divide up the participants into two tribes. Each tribe will compete in immunity challenges, and the losing tribe votes a member off. When the numbers dwindle down, the immunity challenges will face individuals against each other instead of teams. After voting a certain number of people off, it will get down to a handful of finalists. Junior James Heiman is good friends with Pschierer and let him stay at his house when attending the \u201cSurvivor\u201d event in Nashville. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI know Survivor<\/em> is [Pschierer\u2019s] favorite thing in the world,\u201d Heiman said. \u201cEven in his freshman year, he\u2019s always been good at putting things together and planning events.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Junior Max De Loach is also friends with Pschierer and attended the Nashville \u201cSurvivor\u201d event with him.
