Over a year in the making, the Dalrymple team, Collet Development and the City of Searcy finalized a deal with Academy Sports and Outdoors. Construction on the store has already started. This advancement comes at an exciting time for the city, as it not only boosts economic growth but also strengthens the access sports enthusiasts and those who love the outdoors have to the necessary equipment they need. Academy\u2019s variety of merchandise offers a wide range of specialized gear and knowledge to the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This store is also set to provide 50-100 jobs. This growth allows those in the community to benefit from the store economically. Jose Colunga, principal broker and director of real estate, shared his excitement for this deal and the construction that is soon to start. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSearcy continues to grow, and we\u2019ve been fortunate to broker many of the deals,\u201d Colunga said. \u201cWe brokered the entire Searcy City Center \u2015 including Old Navy, Hobby Lobby, T.J.Maxx, Texas Roadhouse and Discount Tire. Searcy City Center will continue to bring shoppers from other towns and generate more revenue for the city of Searcy.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stuart Dalrymple shares this excitement in the official press release from Dalrymple Real Estate on Facebook which states, \u201cThe 63,000-square-foot store will be located on 6 acres of land adjacent to the Old Navy store. We are confident that the new store will be a valuable asset to our community and will provide residents with a convenient and affordable place to shop for all their sporting goods needs.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Sports has 250 stores across America and is a leading comprehensive sporting goods and outdoor recreation retailer. Vice president of the Chamber of Commerce Tara Cathey has similar excitement to the benefits that this will bring to Searcy, specifically the economic advantages the new development will bring to the people in the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a huge quality of life because our local people can shop at these retailers right here in their community,\u201d Cathey said. \u201cAnd from the other standpoint, there is a huge sales tax collection for our city \u2015 our community \u2015 and that\u2019s what helps fund our streets and roads and a lot of other developments that are happening.
