Campus Life at Harding has been putting on a slew of events throughout the semester, including movie nights, bingo nights and much more. One of their consistent events has been trivia nights in the Hammond Student Center in front of Tacker\u2019s Shake Shack, held every Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During March, Campus Life began hosting themed trivias and giving each member of the winning team 50 dining dollars. Past themes include sports, general knowledge and movies and television, but this week\u2019s trivia night, held Wednesday, April 12, stood out from the rest. The trivia theme was social clubs, and the prize was 100 dining dollars for each member of the winning team, and the social club represented by the team will receive a pizza party. Senior Kendall Henson, a staff member on Campus Life, talked about what it took to prepare for this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was somewhat difficult to find questions for social club trivia because I wanted them to feel relevant to everyone, but I also think it will be fun for contestants to learn more about each other’s clubs in the process,\u201d Henson said. \u201cI hope the competitive friendliness we all feel at trivia will carry over into relationships between different clubs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another staff member on Campus Life is senior Gabe Hosticka who spoke on one of his favorite parts of the trivia nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of my favorite parts about trivia nights is seeing all the teams get dead silent when questions are being read,\u201d Hosticka said. \u201cFollowed by the immediate whisper quiet debates between teammates with sudden waves of excitement bursting out across the floor as teams try to keep it together after settling on an answer for the round.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winning team of the social club themed trivia night was the \u201cSussy Bakas,\u201d consisting of juniors Caleb Hooten, Kaler Fortner, Ethan Conn and David Perkins, and seniors Val Nester and Emma Jones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fortner had participated in other trivia nights this semester and looked forward to the social club theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI’m looking forward to obscure club facts and educating people about the iconic [club] Beta Omega Chi,\u201d Fortner said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After his team\u2019s win, Fortner shared what he planned to spend his 100 dining dollar prize on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m pretty excited,\u201d Fortner said. \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019m going to be able to spend it all, but I\u2019ll eat a bunch of Tacker\u2019s.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
