{"id":17430,"date":"2023-01-19T18:22:47","date_gmt":"2023-01-20T00:22:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelink.harding.edu\/the-bison\/?p=17430"},"modified":"2023-01-19T18:22:48","modified_gmt":"2023-01-20T00:22:48","slug":"fresh-new-menu-introduced-at-tackers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelink.harding.edu\/the-bison\/2023\/01\/19\/fresh-new-menu-introduced-at-tackers\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresh new menu introduced at Tacker&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Written by Caleb Chunn \/\/ Graphic by Cooper Turman<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tacker\u2019s Shake Shack location in the Student Center announced Jan. 9 the addition of several new items to their menu for the spring semester, and students across campus are excited to get a bite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expanding on their already diverse selection, bone-in wings, chicken tenders, chicken fries, pizza sticks, onion rings and several other new items have made their way to the menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to give students a better option that\u2019s more cost effective,\u201d lead chef Mark Tacker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tacker has been working at the main branch of the restaurant in Marion, Arkansas, since he was 16 years old, and he now helps run the restaurant with his father. Tacker himself is responsible for some of the recent menu changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt took me like two weeks to perfect the wing recipe,\u201d Tacker said. \u201cI smoked some wings, I baked some wings, fried and grilled them all these different ways.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several Harding students have begun working at Tacker\u2019s Shake Shack and have adapted to these new changes. Sophomore Caden Grubb is a student worker who came back to work after a semester abroad with Harding University in Australasia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll the new menu items, I think, are going to be really exciting and innovative for the students to try,\u201d Grubb said. \u201cThere are a lot of low-budget options too that we\u2019ve added that makes it a little bit more accessible for some students if they run out of dining dollars,\u201d Grubb said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With so many more options, the students on campus are beginning to notice the big changes, as well. Freshman Avery Neal said she is excited about all the new menu items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think it&#8217;s awesome,\u201d Neal said. \u201cThe variety is good. I\u2019m excited to try the chicken wings and the pizza sticks.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new additions not only bring a fresh new menu to Tacker\u2019s Shake Shack, but they\u2019re the only ones like it at either location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is the only location serving these items at the moment,\u201d Tacker said. \u201cThis was kind of a test to see the system work at a small capacity so that we can perfect it and then go bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There may be a few more items to come to the menu in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe do have other items on the \u2018maybe\u2019 list,\u201d Tacker said. \u201cOnce the year progresses and we see if everybody\u2019s liking the new items, we have a few others that we\u2019re thinking of bringing in.
