{"id":16943,"date":"2022-03-17T20:06:02","date_gmt":"2022-03-18T02:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelink.harding.edu\/the-bison\/?p=16943"},"modified":"2022-03-24T12:55:51","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T18:55:51","slug":"track-has-a-successful-indoor-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelink.harding.edu\/the-bison\/2022\/03\/17\/track-has-a-successful-indoor-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Track has a successful indoor season"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Several members of the Harding University track team hosted a multi-meet for the heptathletes and decathletes and participated in the Indoor National Championship in Pittsburgh, Kansas, over spring break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sophomore Sierra White, Kinga Szarzynska, senior Austin Parrish, freshman Kylor Aguilar and sophomore Dorian Chaigneau represented Harding at the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships on March 11-12. Senior Matt Hipshire won the men\u2019s decathlon, and freshman Sofie Reitbauer won at the Harding-hosted meet for heptathletes and decathletes on March 7-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSierra White earned Harding\u2019s first ever All-American in the indoor women\u2019s pole vault with a 7th place finish,\u201d assistant track coach Jessica Withrow said. \u201cKinga Szarzynska placed 17th in the women\u2019s 800-meter run.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aguilar, Parrish and Chaigneau all competed in the pole vault at the championship. Aguilar placed 12th, Parrish placed 7th and Chaigneau placed 4th. Parrish and Chaigneau also earned All-American status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track team is now beginning their outdoor season and will be competing almost every weekend until the end of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will begin our outdoor season after spring break,\u201d head coach Don Hood said. \u201cWe will host a meet here on March 19 and again on April 9.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White said that in preparation for the March 19 home meet, the team has worked out over the break and will continue to participate in their regular training regimen.
