On Harding\u2019s campus, students use a variety of vehicles and methods to travel, including walking, bikes, scooters, skateboards and longboards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Junior D\u2019Artagnan Deuel, for instance, said he navigates around campus by using his skateboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMost people would probably recognize it as the monster truck that I stand on,\u201d Deuel said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deuel has been using the same skateboard since he was 16, with every part having been replaced except the risers. He started using it on campus his freshman year to help him get to his classes on time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior Spencer Savage, on the other hand, has been using a scooter since last year. He said he enjoys the speed and portability a longboard provides but prefers a scooter as it has handles that keep him safer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEveryone should get a scooter,\u201d Savage said. \u201c10\/10 investment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sophomore Jessica Simmons uses her bicycle, not only within campus, but to travel farther than across Harding\u2019s campus. She has gone to Sonic, ridden around houses in Legacy, and she and a group of her friends have even gone through the Slim Chickens drive-thru on their bikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I have some free time, riding my bike is a great way to clear my head and get some time alone meandering in some of the residential streets behind campus,\u201d Simmons said. \u201cIt’s a peaceful study break.\u201d
