Lately, there has been a lot of buzz about Disney\u2019s \u201cRalph Breaks the Internet: Wreck It Ralph 2\u201d movie releasing this Thanksgiving. So much so, that before I even understood the plot, all I knew about it was that it contained a massive Disney Princess sleepover. There\u2019s nothing like seeing some of your favorite characters interact like never before, and I consider this to be the greatest crossover of all time since Nickelodeon\u2019s Jimmy Neutron and The Fairly OddParents mashup in 2004. Of course, with any new Disney creation comes controversy, which is something not even our beloved princesses could escape.<\/p>\n
There have been a lot of arguments so far: speculation on Twitter about missing princesses, \u201cwhitewashing\u201d (which I won\u2019t get into because that is a whole other story in itself) and even, \u201cDon\u2019t you think \u2018Wreck It Ralph 2\u2019 is a pretty lame movie to see all the princesses together for the first time?\u201d<\/p>\n
If you know anything about me, you know that, yes, I am \u201cthat girl.\u201d I love Disney. I go to Walt Disney World multiple times a year and love Disney princesses more than what the average person would deem \u201cnormal.\u201d With that being said, you have probably guessed that I will defend Disney princesses with all that I have in me. And if you guessed that, you are right.<\/p>\n
Throughout my years as an avid Disney fan, I\u2019ve learned to just trust in the Mouse. Usually, if I think something Disney had done is a bad decision or \u201clame,\u201d it usually works out in the end because they know what they are doing. I think the same goes for this movie. Personally, I think the whole concept is a wonderful idea and so much fun.<\/p>\n
Like I mentioned earlier, I love a good crossover. So, my only complaints about the Disney princesses hanging out at a huge sleepover are A. Why was I not invited? and B. Why did this not happen sooner? For the people who are all in, I thank you. This is a real attention-grabber for the newest \u201cWreck It Ralph\u201d movie. I was a big fan of the first one, but the whole princess ordeal is definitely the factor drawing me towards the sequel \u2014 even if it only ends up being for 30 seconds.<\/p>\n
Regarding the \u201cmissing princess,\u201d I think people are looking too hard to find something to critique. I know that Disney Princess stans are not a force to mess with. We all have our favorite princess, mine being Jasmine, and we all want to make sure each is accurately portrayed and has a fair amount of screen-time. This is a big deal since it is possible we haven\u2019t seen them in action since their original movie \u2014 some dating back to the mid 50s.<\/p>\n
However, getting upset because a princess was in one trailer and not the other is a little silly. Maybe she was off on a magic carpet excursion with Aladdin during that scene. Who knows? My point is, we haven\u2019t seen the movie yet, so there is no way to tell.<\/p>\n
I think we should just be excited about this crossover and the fact that \u201cWreck It Ralph 2\u201d movie is getting so much publicity. It\u2019s silly to be so upset about a movie when it hasn\u2019t even been released yet. You know what they say\u2026 You can\u2019t judge a movie by its trailer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
