The Student Association (SA) will be hosting a come-and-go, community-wide prayer walk on April 19. The event will be open to the community and the student body.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cSometimes spring semester can get really busy and it is easy to get caught up in the mundaneness of everyday life,\u201dNora Johnson, head of the SA spiritual life committee of said. \u201cBut there is a lot going on in the world and a lot going on in the community that is easy to overlook and forget about, so a prayer walk like this brings us together not only in fellowship but in remembrance of the things that are going on that we should be aware of and should start taking action on.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 According to Johnson, several groups outside of Harding have approached the SA this year about engaging the student body to be more involved on campus and with students in a more spiritual setting, so the spiritual life committee decided to involve them by inviting the Searcy community to the prayer walk. Eight different prayer stations will be set up on the front lawn. At each station, there will be a different topic that you are invited to pray about.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cI am excited for the community and students to be going through this together,\u201dJohnson said. \u201cA lot of times there is a bit of a separation between White County and Harding, but something like this is a cool opportunity for us to remember that we are all believers in the same body.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the middle of the stations, there will be another station with Harding professors and faculty who will be there to pray over the participants. The SA committee has found a way to connect White County and the student body in a way that can be beneficial for both.<\/p>\n
