Students should know that they need to always remain true to themself and that there is help on campus if needed. \u00a0In the atmosphere that Harding is around, it might become easier to adapt to a different habit, you haven\u2019t been used to before. I\u2019ve seen it happen time and time again with the friends that I may come into contact with at Harding.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve been attending Harding since August of 2013, and I have remained true to myself and I\u2019ve molded into a great person. The different situations I\u2019ve been through have been extremely hard but being at Harding has helped me in more ways than some. I still am the same person I was when I first came here but with different circumstances. I have not changed due to the help that s providing on campus. I lost my father in 2015, and I just wanted to go crazy and give up. I couldn\u2019t deal with how my life was going and I just felt alone because I have no family. I didn\u2019t think anybody even cared about how I felt or what was going on in my life.<\/p>\n
When I heard about the passing of my father, I felt overwhelmed because everybody was continuously approaching me and asking if there was anything I needed them to do or they would be here and it just made me feel like I was in a box. After a couple of days passed, I received a message that the communications department purchased a flight for me to return home. All I could do was cry in that moment.<\/p>\n
I started to receive counseling, and was put in grief, Once I got back, I experienced an abundance of help and love which made me feel great about myself and the situation I was in.<\/p>\n
With the situations that I have endured, despite feeling alone, it was nice to know that Harding had the help I needed and made sure my physical, mental and spiritual health was doing well. Students should know that counseling is provided for them so nobody ever has to feel like there is nothing that can be done to help them.<\/p>\n
