The Lady Bisons basketball team arrived in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday, March 19, for the NCAA Division II Elite 8 championship. But while most people in Columbus were thinking about the games that would take place on Tuesday, March 21, this team had other things on their mind.
On Monday, March 20, the Lady Bisons had the opportunity to give back to the community and do something good for those less fortunate. The team had the chance to serve smoothies to the elderly at the LifeCare Alliance Center in Columbus.
“It was really fun,” sophomore forward Chelsea Heidebrecht said. “They asked us questions, and they played card games with us too. Some of us even got to prepare meals for the Meals on Wheels program.”
The Lady Bisons play this evening against the Queens College Knights. A victory tonight will send the team to the semifinal round tomorrow, Wednesday, March 22.
Tip off tonight is at 7:30 pm central time. Follow the game live on the Harding Sports Network, and on ncaa.com.
