Dear Brothers and Sisters:We are well into school now. The first week is always slow, isn’t it? And then VOOM! Here we are, six weeks in. I have had such a fun time being SA President and there is no one I’d rather serve with than the group we have here.It is a unique environment to be surrounded by people who are eager to learn and use that knowledge for the benefit of God’s work on earth. When knowledge is used to bring out the good in others, that is wisdom. This campus is filled with wisdom, from students to faculty, from administration to janitors, from cooks to board members. God has richly blessed us. We have reason to celebrate. The fun times keep rolling in. The Back-to-School Bash kicked us off! We’ve had Dr. Dog and The Medders. We’ve had Jason Mraz. We’ve done a drive-in movie. Dr. Burks served ice cream on the front lawn. And chapel’s been packed with an array of different things, like students talking to famous actors (credit on “Celebrity: Kingdom” videos goes to Mark Slagle and Harrison Dell), Matt Love’s excellent speech while knocking on wood, B. Chris and his mentor’s mentor, Dr. Lane. Mark Slagle, Josh Nason and Lucas Nossaman were the narrators of unique pieces of literature from prophets to poets on how God is waking us up in 2010, and the weekly HUH?!−Harding University Habits. It is safe to say that we are in the midst of an awesome celebration.Your energy and humility is contagious to everyone around you, and I urge you keep that attitude. Those two qualities are essential to the celebration being the way God wants it be.As college students, you are being servant leaders to all of those in your circle. While “Celebrate: Kingdom” does not dismiss this one bit, it is an intentional mission on our part to extend joy and grace to those around us.Your work in “Celebrate: Kingdom” has been astounding in raising money for the Sunshine School. Next Saturday is Oct. 9, and we will show kindness and humility where life already happens.Let us finish strong not only with the sacrifice of our money, but of our time and physical effort. God’s kingdom is descending upon the earth. Christ said, “The kingdom of God is within you. It does not come with observation.” There is much to look at, but more to act on. Let us be the ones who acted!
