I remember meeting Spring Sing host Stephen McBride for the first time two years ago. He was still a senior in high school, checking out the Honors House and preparing to enter Harding as a freshman the next year. He greeted me confidently with a firm handshake and told me how excited he was about the night’s activities. He was going to Spring Sing.
You could see in his eyes that he had a plan, and finally he let me in. “I’m going to be Spring Sing host,” he told me. He had his music ready. He had the personality down. It was just time to wait.
Now that his time as host has come, McBride’s favorite Spring Sing memory is randomly breaking out into song with the three other hosts. With all four of the hosts being male they all share a dressing room giving them more time to bond.
Veteran Spring Sing host Nate White’s favorite Spring Sing memory is of ensemble member Tori Dobbs sharing a dance move with the ensemble only to be embarrassed by it when they began to chant, “Tori! Tori!” The ensemble won’t let her live it down and still chant “Tori!” during rehearsals.

Junior Cameron Frazier, who is a first-time host, has a favorite Spring Sing memory from his time in the ensemble during his freshman year. During the song “After Today” Frazier, with the help of his friend Cody Smith, decided to knock over fellow ensemble member Linzi Lawson mid song. She fell off her chair and the three preceded to crack up until the song ended.
