Grammy-nominated recording artist and former Acappella member Wayburn Dean will sing in concert at the River of Life Church in Searcy Sat., Dec. 12 at 7:00 p.m.
Dean records Christian music albums, and six of his songs have been national radio hits. His “What Will Be Your Legacy” recently charted at #1 on Billboard’s Soft AC Inspo charts, Audience Ranks and #4 in actual spins. He also sang for several years as one of the four members of the multi-million-selling vocal group, “Acappella.”
The concert will be comprised of Christmas songs and praise, according to Keith Tomlinson, one of the pastors of the River of Life Church.
Dean has toured to and performed in at least 10 states over the past 2 years and also in Canada and the Cayman Islands. One year ago, he performed at Covenant Fellowship Church in Searcy.
Dean and his wife Janae are founders of a non-profit organization called Afterword Music. They have donated thousands of CDs to missionaries and churches in Vietnam, India, Jamaica, Brazil, New Zealand and other countries.
“The event is open to the public, and we want everyone to come enjoy the evening,”he said.”We want this to be a blessing to the community.”
According to Tomlinson, Dean will sing a mixture of Christmas songs and his own songs. His CDs will be available for purchase at the concert, which is free of charge. For those who wish to make a donation, however, a love offering will be collected “to bless Wayburn Dean with,” said Tomlinson.
Tomlinson hopes that many people from the community as well as from the congregation will come and that there will be a full crowd.
The River of Life Church is located on Highway 67/167, Exit 48 in Searcy.
